Why the Name Change?

I established Good Trouble Parents in 2022 as the antidote to the “woke” organization of Twin Cities principals called Good Trouble Principals.

I understand that civil rights leader, John Lewis, coined the term “good trouble” and I honestly didn’t know much about him at the time. I didn’t want to highlight him or his work necessarily—I wanted to counter the efforts of Good Trouble Principals.

I took some heat for the Lewis association. That said, I do agree with his statement, “You must be bold, brave, and courageous and find a way…to get in the way.” The Protective Parent Coalition is getting in the way and empowering other parents and caregivers to do the same.

Additionally, the Good Trouble Principals website (thankfully) came down and I rebranded as The Protective Parent Coalition.

Jill, I am so delighted to see you creatively challenging the status quo in education! Our children’s schools are where it all begins. To change the attitudes of our young people, we need to change the indoctrination they receive in school. You go, girl!
